Do I need to show my identification at the entrance and is there an age limit for the event?

There are no age restrictions for visiting the installation and the performance. Children and adolescents under the age of 16 are only allowed to visit the exhibition and the live performance accompanied by a custodial person or person with parental power.

Arrival

By public transport
From Central Station take bus 21. Get off at Van Hallstraat/Westergasfabriek. At night you can take the bus 283 from and to Central Station from Van Limburg Stirumstraat.

Are you coming from the city center? Take tram 5 and get off at Van Limburg Stirumplein or at Hallstraat/Westergasfabriek.

By car
From the ring A10: take the turnoff S103/S104 (Haarlem) and drive towards the city center via the Haarlemmerweg. At your left hand side you’ll find Westergas / Gashouder.

From Schiphol: take the A4 towards Amsterdam (ring A10) and take turn off S103 via Haarlemmerweg towards the city center. At your left hand side you’ll find Westergas / Gashouder.

 

Parking

The Q-park Westergas at Van Bleiswijkstraat and parking lot Willemspoort at Haarlemmerplein offers affordable parking options. Q-park Westergasfabriek is at walking distance of the Westergas and open 24/7.

Can I take pictures and videos during the exhibition and live show?

Yes, but you are allowed to take photos and videos only for personal use. The commercial use of the photos is forbidden. Unless explicitly permitted, broadcasts or audio recordings of the show are absolutely forbidden.

What may I NOT bring to the event?

Please refrain from bringing the following items:
•   bags or backpacks larger than A4 (21,0 x 29,7 cm)
•   bulky items of any kind (suitcases, baskets, stick umbrellas etc.)
•   your own drinks and food
•   animals, with the exception of dogs for the blind
Bags may be checked for their contents.

Protect your ears!

SKALAR uses (loud) multidimensional sounds. With music above 87 dB it is smart to use earplugs. Free earplugs for both adults and children will be available at the entrance.

Are children allowed to SKALAR?

Yes, with ear protection. Earplugs will be available for free at the entrance. Buggies can be brought to the exhibition, but not to the live performance.

Is card payment possible on-site?

Yes, you can buy tickets and drinks with a debit or credit card.

Is cash payment possible on-site?

No, we are a cashless event. All payments need to be done by debit or credit card. Tickets can be bought online via skalar.amsterdam

Where can I buy tickets?

You can buy tickets online at https://skalar.amsterdam. Exhibition tickets are also available at the door, at the Gashouder. We advise to buy your tickets online in advance, for quick entry.

Are refunds possible?

Refunds are not possible. But you can sell your ticket within the ticketing system. Once you sold your ticket, it is not accessible for you anymore. You get a refund of the entrance price minus service costs back into your bank account. Please check support.guts.tickets for further assistance.

Do I need to come on a certain time for the exhibition?

You can find the exhibition hours on our website and you are free to come within this timeframe and stay as short or long as you want. The exhibition is a continuous show, where you can step in an out at any given time during its opening hours.

Do I have to bring the printed ticket?

No. You need to show your ticket and it’s QR-code on your phone or other digital device.

Physical tickets cannot be scanned on site, because of a changing QR-code to prevent false tickets.

Is my ticket transferable?

Yes, the tickets are not personalized and can be given to other persons.

Is there anything else I have to know when visiting Gashouder?

According to the house rules of Gashouder, the following is not allowed (extract):
• Racist, xenophobic or otherwise discriminatory propaganda material
• Weapon including “protective weapon” according to § 17a VersammlG as well as corrosive
or colouring substances including paint sprays and felt-tip pens as well Hazardous substances of any kind.
• Fireworks, rockets, banyans, smoking powder, sparklers, star shells, and other pyrotechnical objects.
• Mechanically and electrically driven noise instruments.
• Containers made of fragile material or material that breaks into splinters or shards as well as your own food and drinks.
• Audio or visual recording devices for purposes of commercial use (unless permitted by the event organizer).
• Animals, with the exception of dogs for the blind.

Persons who are recognizably under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be excluded from the event. Rejected visitors shall not be entitled to a refund of admission fees.

Accessibility

The entrance of Gashouder is suitable for people with reduced mobility, wheelchairs and strollers. Companions of a severely handicapped person receive free admission. Our team is happy to assist, please contact us at skalar@audio-obscura.com
